Kindling

The objective was to create a game where the player has to collect assets to power life while escaping from external forces. The original game included a winter environment with the player having collect "Kindling" to keep the campfire alive while tackling dense snowfall and drop in body temperature.

Drawing parallels from the brief the concept included a spaceship that crash landed on planet XRTerra. Player had to attain Magic Orbs from the planets XRTree to fuel the spaceship to continue its journey. Players had to resist attack from the planets habitant Xarian who attacked with shurikens.

Concept Design / Storyboarding / Design and generate game environment / Animation

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS : 

  • Onboarding scene includes spaceship navigating through asteroid Belt and crashing on few oncoming asteroids

  • Animated text with instructions depicting holographic text on spaceship screen

  •  Terrain created in Unity included uneven surfaces with bioluminescent textures and a glowing fluid body to depict extra terrestrial environment,

  • Trees, rocks and plants were imported from Unity's Asset store.

  • Particle effect was used to create gaseous emissions in the form of green orbs emitted from the liquid body.Particle effect was also used to depict oxygen emission from the oxygen tank outside spaceship.

  • VFX system was used to build elixirs which consisted of orbs with continuous electric impulses.

  • The Spaceship was built in Blender

  • Extra terrestrial creature was imported with animation from Miro
